Is anyone in the Flathead Valley of Montana interested in a permanent home swap in Tennessee?? We have our house in Knoxville, TN for sale, and want to relocate to the Flathead Valley area. We like the Kalispell, Kila, Marion area, but are open for other options nearby as well. We need 5+ acres and prefer 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Water on the property (spring/well/creek) is a plus. Things we'd like to have, but are not a necessity: barn/workshop, garden plot/greenhouse.

We would love to find a home off the grid.

Our home is currently listed for $174,000. We bought it in Spring of 2010 as a foreclosure and then fixed it up. Pics are posted below. It is 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths; 2256 sq. ft. It is a split foyer design, and we love how much space it gives. There are lots of big windows upstairs that let in a lot of light (one of our favorite features). The upper level is living room, dining room, kitchen, guest bath, 3 bedrooms (including Master Bedroom), and master bath. The basement is fully finished and opens out into the 2-car garage. Even though the lower level is partly underground, there are several windows down there that also let in light (so you don't have the basement feel). The lower level consists of the 4th bedroom and 3rd bathroom (toilet, sink and stand-up shower), a living room/den/man cave and kitchenette with cabinets (with room for table, range and full sized refrigerator). The living area hosts a beautiful fireplace with stone that covers the entire wall (matches the front of the house). The laundry room is located on the bottom level at the foot of the stairs. There is a lot of storage in the closet under the stairs.

Need additional living quarters for young adult children or in-laws? The bottom level of this house is PERFECT for you. At the bottom of the stairs going down to the basement is a door that could be locked to keep the top and bottom floors separate. Going through the door puts you in a hallway where you gain access to the additional living quarters (there is a separate door that opens up into the additional living quarters area), the laundry room and the garage. So, essentially, both tenants would share the laundry room and the garage entrance, but wouldn't have access to the others living quarters.

The house is on about a half an acre. The backyard is fenced in. We had a 12' x 24' garden plot this past year and it worked out perfectly because we have so much full sun in the back yard. There is a deck off the back that has a handicap ramp. The deck needs some work.

The house is located in a well-established neighborhood and was built in the mid 1970's. There are many things we love about this neighborhood. First, the houses are not built right on top of each other like in many newer neighborhoods. Secondly, while it is in West Knoxville and SO convenient to everything, it is still quiet! Thirdly the neighbors are fantastic and really look out for each other.

House can be small, with at least 2 bedrooms. Horse ready is good, but not a requirement.

We do NOT want to be in a neighborhood. We want to be away from the city...so Kila, Marion, West Valley...areas like that.
